Leaders & Staff
Ryan Sutherland, pastor
A Montana native who moved to Missoula in 2006 after graduating from Westminster Theological Seminary. He and fellow MT native (and Westminster grad), Christian Cryder, planted All Souls and began public worship in September of 2008. Ryan was elected to lead the church as Senior Pastor in the fall of 2013.
Ryan has been married to Rachel since 2001 and are busy raising their four active children. They enjoy all the urban activities that Missoula has to offer (parades, summer festivals, etc), but especially the great craft beer. As a family, the Sutherland's also enjoy rafting and skiing/snowboarding, and pretty much any sport involving a ball.
Ric Hauer, elder
Ric retired as Professor of Limnology and Institute of Ecology Director at the University of Montana in May 2018. He is one of the first elders elected to serve our church and has been serving in this capacity since 2013. He is happily married to Brenda and has two grown children and five grandchildren.
Joe Kesler, elder
Joe retired as CEO of First Montana Bank and is now busy trying to figure out how best to use his life experience (and freedom!) to serve God. He is one of the first elders elected to serve All Souls and has been serving in this capacity since 2013. He is happily married to Nancy and they have five adult children.
Jesse Barnett, music leader and elder
A musician and "taco al pastor" officionado who has been leading our worship music since 2013. Jesse comes from a family of musicians and worship leaders. He's married to Tami and has four children. In 2018 he was unanimously elected to the office of elder.
Rachel Sutherland, children's director
Rachel has been involved with the children of All Souls since the church began, but formally took over the job of director in the fall of 2016. She coordinates volunteers, plans family events, finds curriculum, and a host of other ministries!
