On the 19th of May a state of emergency was declared in Montana and on the reservations. One of the hardest hit areas was the Crow Indian Reservation. People are still unaccounted for and a few deaths have been reported. Floods on the reservation have isolated many people, trapping them in harm's way without clean water. Babies need formula, baby food and diapers. It is assumed that wells have been contaminated, so a boil order is in effect on the reservation--meaning any water must first be boiled before it is potable.
If you would like to purchase something to aid the relief efforts, you can bring your items to worship this Sunday and we'll make sure they get to the drop off location. Relief workers are asking for DONATIONS OF BOTTLED WATER, BABY FORMULA, BABY FOOD AND DIAPERS. Non-perishable food is also requested, but water and baby supplies are the priority (See below for a full list of items needed). If anyone has questions, or if you would like to help deliver these items to the drop off location on Monday, contact
Nina (546-4697)
Thanks,
Ryan
